90th Anniversary Celebration

This Ninetieth Anniversary event recognizes through music both the legacy of the Fort Smith Symphony’s past and its bright outlook for the future.

Composer Charles Booker’s new work, Borderline, is a vibrant musical tribute to the orchestra’s ninety years and the city it calls home.
Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 is a beautiful work performed in recognition of the many decades of the Symphony’s performances of traditional classics.

The concert closes with one of the most epic and exhilarating symphonies ever composed, the Second Symphony by Russian Romantic composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. This grandiose work reflects the scope of repertoire the orchestra has been able to perform in recent years as it has grown in excellence and ability. It also presents a preview of the quality of performance to be enjoyed in the future.
